TRAINING COURSES.
GMTO has been established in 1987. It owes its existence due to the need for electronic ignition, EFI-system and electronic diesel control system training courses, within the automotive industry. At the start the development and implementing of training courses was the main goal. The trainees mainly came from independent automotive repair shops. At a later stage training courses were also conducted for trainees working at dealer service center's, e.g. OPEL, VOLVO, VAG and CITROEN. Diagnostics is and has always been the main aim of the training courses at GMTO. The courses are very compact and work related in which within a short period of time a lot of useful knowledge can be obtained. Therefor they are very suitable for in-workshop usage.
INFORMATION.
In 1990 , as a result of the growing need for specific information and data about electronic systems in cars, GMTO introduced its own unique information system to the market. Specific about it is that GMTO itself is undertaking extensive research on all existing automotive car brands and types by means of a self developed program to collect the necessary data needed for fast and efficient repairs to the electronic systems of cars.
The development in the automotive electronic field has been very extensive during the last few years. This turbulent process is demanding a lot from people specialised in this field. As no other they experience that maintenance on cars, due to better quality , gradually is decreasing, at the same time there is an increase in repairs to the electronic systems in cars. In this world of ever changing technologies, the need to keep up is particularly important. GMTO as an institute therefor is an important business partner. At GMTO learning methods are developed in a way that locating and repairing faults in electronic systems are done efficiently and effectively. CLEAR, RECOGNISABLE and especially WORKSHOP RELATED are words the people at GMTO are writing in capital letters.
WORKSHOP USE RELATED COURSES
In Holland GMTO has to keep up a reputation. The institute can be seen as the leader in the field of training personnel to work on automotive electronic systems for independent automotive repair shops. For this GMTO developed their own training methods. This method clearly explains the complicated applications of the automotive electronics. The material is undone of all cluttering. Leaving only the necessarily knowledge to set a diagnose. For the duration of the course simple diagnostic in house equipment is used. We also introduce the trainees to the setting of diagnosis with a scope .The courses are specifically designed for in workshop use and are backed up with professional teaching aids. GMTO is conducting their courses throughout Holland, as well as in there training center in Alkmaar (North-Holland) The teachers are making their trainees comfortable to work with measurement and diagnostic techniques by means of their own developed teaching methods and materials. GMTO has sourced their teachers from the field and selected them on their qualities to pass on their knowledge.
